How to Adopt
How to Surrender a Pet
Before you Adopt
We will need you to take a few minutes to fill out our online adoption form.  Once we have the form we will set up a time for you to meet the pet. If everything goes well at the time of meeting you are able to take the pet home at the time of adoption.

Please make sure to bring a collar and a leash with you to adopt.
Make sure you're really ready to add a pet to your home. Our goal is to have an adopted pet stay in the home of its new family. If you're not ready to adopt, we would encourage you to wait until you are. If you feel your family is ready and everyone is on board with a new pet please make sure to have food, bed and supplies ready before bringing the pet home.
We understand that sometimes you have to give a pet up to a new home. If you are placing your pet they can go into one of our foster homes or stay with you until a home is found. You should never place a dog on Craigslist or give him away for free. So many bad things can happen to these dogs.

If you are turning in a litter of puppies and keeping mom, we will pay for mom to be spayed.
Pet Connection
Adoption Fees

Our fees range from $50-$250 to help cover vet bills. We understand that it sounds like a lot of money for a mix breed dog, but we would like you to remember that you are not buying a dog you are paying for vet care and helping a dog in need. All of our fees are used to vet the dog you are getting, If anything is left over it goes into our emergency fund so you will be saving more then one pet.
Transportation

Most pets are in the Northern Ky Cincinnati area. The location of the pet should be listed in the ad on petfinder. We do NOT offer transportation of the pets. You must be able to pick them up at the foster home. In some cases of adult dogs or special needs pets we maybe able to set up a transport.

We do NOT transport puppies.

Vet Care

We do everything we can to help make sure a pet is healthy and ready for adoption. All pets are spayed/neutered (unless age, health, or vet wants to weight) atleast 1 set of shots, dewormed and frontlined.

If your new pet if NOT fixed at the time of adoption you will have to bring them to one of our approved vets. If you chose to use your vet you will have to cover the cost and the fee you paid will become a donation. We do not give refunds. You will also have to mail us proof that the pet is fixed BEFORE 6 months of age.
Welcome to our adoption center!

Pet Connection is ran by foster homes so we do NOT have a shelter to view pets. All of our pets are in foster homes, vet offices or boarding kennels until a home is found.

This area is for all things related to adoption. Here you can learn about how to adopt from Pet Connection, look through our pets available for adoption and view upcoming adoption events. You can complete an online application form and a volunteer will get back to you with information on the pet and help you set up a time to meet them.

Adopting a pet is a huge commitment in your life. We would like you to take the time and make sure everyone in your home is onboard with bringing a new animal into the home.
As a new adopter you understand that the pet maybe stressed out and take 1-2 weeks to get use to the new home. House training should start the moment you walk into the home. A dog in a new home needs to go outside every few hours so they can learn the proper area to potty. I agree
Spay/Neuter if the adopted pet has not been spayed or neutered at the time of adoption the new owner MUST take the pet to one of our vets in Highland Heights Kentucky or Georgetown Kentucky within 30 days of adoption or by date given on contract. If you do Not go to one of these vets you will have to pay your vet to do the surgery at your cost and send proof the surgery was done. I Agree
Health Guarantee- We do everything we can to make sure the pets are healthy at the time of adoption. If your new pet would become ill you MUST inform Pet Connection as soon as the problem starts. Depending on the problem meds will be mailed to you or If the pet becomes ill you must return the pet to the foster home and the pet will be treated at our cost. We will not cover or refunded any money spent at your vet. I Agree
As a new owner you agree to keep your pet up to date on vet care. The new pet will have tags and a number to reach you if lost. The pet will not be able to roam free. I agree
Returning a pet- If things are not working out you can return the pet to Pet Connection. Please understand that if it has been longer then a few weeks we may need time to find a foster home so we may not be able to take the pet back without notice. Refunds of adoption fee are not returned. I Agree
Pets pending adoption- If you fill out the application but you are unable to meet the pet for a few days you are able to place a $50 deposit to hold the pet. If you choice not to place a hold and another family is approved they will get the chance to meet the pet. If you would like to place a pet as pending please let us know. If you place a pet on hold but change your mind and chose not to adopt the pet the $50 will become a donation. I understand, do not hold for me
Place this pet on hold (non-refundable)
